Brief History

The Career Development and Continuing Education Center (CDCEC) was established as an answer to the need for trained skilled workers particularly in business, tourism and food industries. It is also committed to the re-training and upgrading of skills of professionals and semi-professionals in the field.

Since it opened in 1978, CDCEC has produced graduates who value the dignity of labor, perseverance and service. It has been offering short-term courses on technological innovations and skills development.

To date, CDCEC has established several branches (franchises) in Baguio, Bulacan (Baliwag), Bataan, Calamba, Misamis Oriental, Sta. Cruz, Surigao and Tarlac.

It was June 2, 2008 when Philippine Women's University was granted Autonomous status, CDCEC was renamed "School of Continuing Education" as compliance with the requirements set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Highlights

PWU-CDCEC is committed to provide and develop industry-led competency based and value-laden, short-term courses. It actively pursues continuous upgrading of facilities and is technologically responsive to the changing needs of the job markets. The Center maintains high quality training through experienced faculty, use of research-based training modules and hand-outs and on-the-job training in top corporations. It also invests in the continuous professional upgrading and retooling of all its instructors and personnel.
